review 3- rhetorical analysis

This rhetorical analysis is over a letter written by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, an English poet in the 19th century, to Napoleon III regarding Victor Hugos banishment due to his strange and critical writing pieces.

Because he is the emperor of France, Browning writes in a respectful manner in order to acknowledge the power he possesses. In the beginning, she introduces herself as being a woman, wife of an English poet, showing her inferiority to him at the time. She also writes in a tone that would suggest she is pleading Napoleon III to kindly see her reasoning as to why he should bring back Victor Hugo. By talking mighty of the emperor as well as showing her own weakness, the letter seems to be a constant beg for him to pardon Hugo. Browning uses phrases such as "your Majesty", ""I have trusted you for doing greatly" and others to make him favorable by her inferiority to him and having him believe he is of high importance. The reason as to why she must have used these words and phrases may be to appeal to him in a sense that would boost his ego. Once he feels powerful and important by her tone, he might listen to what she has to say because of the way she is kissing up to him.

review 2- rhetorical analysis timed write

A rhetorical analysis is when you are given a text and must dissect it. By doing this, one explains the reason as to why they believe the author of the text wrote it in such a way. The writer of the rhetorical analysis must analyze the diction, sentence structure, mood, style, and other features that might reveal why the author might have written such text as so. The format one must write a rhetorical analysis in is giving an introduction paragraph that explains the text, thesis, and the main points of the authors piece and why they might have written it as such. Followed by this each point is explained in body paragraphs; each paragraph contains a different point going into depth. Lastly, the conclusion sums up all the points one makes in their essay. During the AP exam, one is given 40 minutes to write out a rhetorical analysis. In a timed write, it is important to write about the different points they believe the author must have written the text in such a way in the introduction and body paragraphs. One should focus primarily on those portions because they are the most important that give out what the writer is trying to say. A conclusion would help but if time runs out its okay if you strongly wrote about the main thesis and focus of the paper.

review 1- synthesis timed write

A synthesis essay involves the usage of several sources and documents to support or deny a claim presented to you. For example, if the prompt suggests that you must address the extent to which if cellphones are good or bad, some sources provided will be for and some against this statement. This synthesis is about the extent to which preserving everyday writing is important or not.

Lastly, the most important reason as to why we should preserve and continue writing is the overall knowledge and information we are provided with.In the source "Battling Information Overload In The Information Age", by Reld Goldsborough, he  asserts the importance and increase of information there is due to the Internet. "Information can lead to knowledge, and knowledge to wisdom," is stated by Goldsborough which demonstrates a connection between how the more information that is available to us can help us become more knowledgeable. Therefore, the information that comes from the Internet such as blogs, texting, websites, and as well as "old media" like books and journals in typed form can make us more knowledgeable and aware of what happened in the past or what is going on at the moment. The preservation of daily writing is very important due to the fact that it allows many to view the perspectives of others and gain information which benefits them in the long run.
