“Truth is powerful, and it prevails.”

---Sojourner Truth

Society as a whole seems to only accept the findings that seem to hold some truth to them. Although many figure to express only the truth, when one encounters a situation, at times individuals might tell some lies, whether be it a great one or a simple white lie, in order to preserve someones feelings or not hurt something in the long run. When one does say these alternative facts, they might feel as if they are protecting something or someone by keeping them away from the truth. The truth however will most likely eat at the individual and drive them crazy to a breaking point that leads to an abrupt outburst that will somehow allow for it to find its way out.
In Truths quote, she suggests that the truth has enough power itself that it can prevail and reach outward to the one who is fibbing. Ones emotions and self conscious is quite powerful in the sense that a conscientious body will lean towards the side of what is considered good to the majority. Someone who falls under this pressure of always wanting to do good things will get caught up in the moment of the lie and ravel themselves in it until the whole situation to themselves is a mess. On the other hand, to someone who does not worry about what they do to others or themselves, lying may come as a second nature. Although this circumstance, apart from inner feelings eating away at a person, outside factors such as the lie going a completely wrong way may cause pressure in the individual to fess up and admit that they have lied.
